I never thought I'd fall into the category of shoe obsessed. I mean, I generally consider myself enamored with all articles of clothing, from pants to tops and dresses and especially sweaters. However my shopping habits recently have betrayed me and I think I am entering the shoe fanatic category. New docs and now these babies, Deena and Ozzy wedges, scored at a great discount from Urban Outfitters.

I don't have to fly anywhere this weekend! I had a fantastic time traveling the country with LA Dance Magic these last three weeks but it really feels nice to be home for a change. This means I have my usual quiet Thursday afternoon to blog hop. Not reading my favorite blogs is like not staying in contact with good friends! Here are my favorites....

Out and About

This past week I went shopping in LA with my mom to pick out costumes for my dance studio. She is in charge of putting together all the looks for our competition pieces, quite a task considering there are 25 girls to fit. It ended up being a rather successful trip, now the rhinestone-ing and alterations will begin! I decided to wear my new top that I got at an after Christmas sale at Anthropologie. I swear I fall even more in love with that store every time I go in, from the clothing to the books and decor. It's usually way out of my price range, but the rare sale is always fantastic.

Last Saturday I went out with some friends for dinner to celebrate my 18th birthday. Despite pouring rain I wanted to wear my recently thrifted heels and new hat. Both survived the raindrops and puddles and came out unscathed. We rounded off the fun night to see the movie Black Swan which truly blew me away. It was properly dark and creepy, I left the theater with a headache from focusing so hard on what was real and what wasn't. Lesson learned, high platforms are a good replacement for rain boots. :)

Last week, Sasha (Black n' Gold a la Mode) and I attended the Rose Bowl Flea Market in search of vintage treasures. It was totally overwhelming but so much fun to wander aisle after aisle of vintage and antique booths looking for deals and rare pieces. We even managed some haggling, which we were both a bit nervous to attempt. This outfit shows two of my favorite finds, the high-waisted denim skirt and the purple leather boots. After I discovered and fell in love with Purple Jeffrey Campbell Lita's only to find they were sold out, I was determined to find some kind of alternative. These new boots definitely fill the void.

Here in Southern California, Spring comes early every year like clockwork. The abundance of shining sun and chirping birds has got my mind going on a Spring/Summer '10 Want List. Truthfully, I'm much more of a fall style girl at heart, but this year it is my mission to give these warmer months a chance. What better than some (pretend) internet shopping to get started?? :)
