Out with a Bang.

The weather is betraying me, but the calendar says Summer is winding to a close. Bittersweet! I'm a bit exhausted when it comes to dressing for unbearably warm days. Wildfox Couture did it again and came out with a new swim collection and accompanying campaign that just might inspire me enough to get through these last few hot weeks. Time to channel my inner Bond girl...

It's a fact, I shamelessly live in denim cut offs all summer. These days I've been looking for a new go to look and I think I've found it. 

 Breezy sundresses, luxe flats, and flowers for days. Plus a Pamela Love cuff to toughen it up a bit.

Style Crush 13 // Amber Heard

The Playboy Club may have been one of the shortest running new shows of the season, but it was long enough to remind me how gorgeous Amber Heard. Not only a pretty face, but she also embraces Old Hollywood glamour with open arms, making her one of my favorite actresses to watch when it comes time for a red carpet. Far too many starlets these days go for the too tight/too shiny combo, so it's refreshing to see someone embrace a much more classic approach to dressing up. She can also rock both blonde and brunette which is not an easy feat in itself!

Style Crush 12 // Brigitte Bardot

It has been way too long since I've done a Style Crush post and I thought what better than to write about a true fashion icon. I had to research 60's style for a costuming project and came across numerous photos portraying Brigitte Bardot. Onscreen she was a bombshell and offscreen she had enviably effortless style. To top it all off she's French. No wonder she remains a style inspiration to this day.

I am proud to declare my love and mild obsession over this collection. It strikes a perfect balance between everything I look for in clothes...feminine without being too sweet, dark but elegant, romantic, with nods to some nostalgic era you can't quite pinpoint...you get the picture.
