Room to grow

The time has finally come for me to move from my tiny closet sized bedroom into my sister's bigger bedroom. It is the first time since I was born that I've been able to completely redecorate a room of my own from start to finish. It's a slow-going process as she moves out, but its given me plenty of time to assemble my inspiration. So far, the room has been painted all white with gold molding and a gold and crystal light fixture. There is still some painting to be done but in the coming weeks I'll be able to move in furniture and finally get to settle in and style the space.

The Glamorous + Updates

I have a new header! I've always loved those crystal bullet necklaces.
Also, about a week ago I remember someone leaving a comment asking for a lookbook invite, and I can't seem to find the comment again! I feel so bad about that so I'm taking this opportunity to give lookbook invites to the first 5 people who email me at stylephenomenon@gmail.com! :) That's the other new update, I now have an email address specifically for the blog! Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have regarding the blog, style, life, anything!

Electric Parade

With Thanksgiving a bit later than usual this year I've finally come to terms with the fact that Christmas is right around the corner. I find that both incredible exiting and depressing, as it is my favorite time of year but I also hate to see it go by so fast.

Anyways, here's an outfit from last week that was lurking on the memory card of my camera. I was from a lovely Sunday spent with my mom and sister getting hair cuts and seeing New Moon.

Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Top: H&M
Shorts: DIY cutoffs
Tights: drug store
Shoes: Steve Madden
Necklace: Mom's jewelry box

Again, under the continually festive theme, I thought I'd throw in a few pictures from decorating my backyard with my dad. :)

P.S. I'm trying out a new layout so that I can play around with my picture sizes and graphics a bit more...so just bear with me. Plus, check out the new winterized header. :)

A room with a view.

Two pieces of great news!

1. My sister has just gone into escrow on her very own condo. After the proper waiting period and some remodeling she will be out on her own. It's not too far away, 10-15 minutes, but it feels like a completely different area due to the fact that she's across the street from a wildlife preserve. So pretty! I can't wait to help her get settled in and go exploring.

2. This means I get to change rooms and move into the bigger room! I have lived in the same tiny room (my mom dubbed it "The Closet") for my entire life and not had the opportunity to change anything. Once my sister is out I get to paint and decorate however I'd like. It'll still be a few months before I have my chance, but in the mean time I've been collecting images for inspiration.

The Royal Bedroom at Versailles

I am extremely inspired by the royal bedrooms and artwork. Yes they are extremely over the top, but what I like best is the amount of light and detail. If you have the coolest bedroom around or have tried out some wild and crazy decorating techniques let me know! cause I need inspiration. :P
